Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town Successfully Hosted their Annual Literacy Walk in collaboration with the Interact Club of Anegada, EarlyAct Club of Claudia Creque Educational Center and EarlyAct Club of Francis Lettsome Primary School.

Road Town, BVI – On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town proudly held its annual Literacy Walk simultaneously in Tortola and Anegada as part of their celebration of Basic Education and Literacy Month throughout September. This event aimed to raise awareness about literacy both locally and internationally, bringing together students, teachers, and community members in support of this vital cause.

The walk also emphasized health and wellness, encouraging participants to engage in a light, brisk walk benefiting both mind and body. In Tortola, walkers followed the route from Queen Elizabeth Park to the Festival Grounds and back, while in Anegada, the path stretched from the Claudia Creque Educational Center to the Administration Building and back.

The event was a resounding success, with strong community turnout and enthusiastic support from all involved. The Rotary Club Sunrise expresses heartfelt thanks to its generous sponsors — Ernst and Young, Anegada Beach Club, Road Town Fast Ferry, Medicure Ltd, Penn Medical Center, Therapy Works, MB's Ice — as well as to donations from Sunrisers and the wider public, whose contributions helped make this event possible.

Rotary Club Sunrise remains committed to promoting literacy and wellness across the territory and looks forward to continued community engagement in these vital initiatives.
