RCS members celebrated Rotary International’s Literacy Month during the month of September by giving a live performance of Little Red Riding Hood to the special needs students of the Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre.

Giggling, laughter and lit-up faces filled the compound as President-Elect Monique Peters narrated the classic book as a cast of Rotarians used simple storytelling props to act out the tale of a young girl’s adventures in the woods.

The students were engaged, answering questions and hailing the characters as they appeared on the scene. Students cheered Little Red Riding hood (Rtn Natalie Bute), Grandma (Rtn Sylvia Adams) and the Cane Cutter (PP Norman Allen). The Big Bad Wolf (Rtn Ann Syrett), however, received boisterous BOOS from the excited audience members.
